Liability Insurance
Liability implies negligence. If you permit a hazard to exist, you are negligent. An example would be neglecting to remove the ice and snow from your sidewalk.
But these days, no matter how diligently you remove all possible hazards, you could be sued successfully for accidents resulting from the carelessness of a third party too. Liability insurance is your last line of defense against devastating claims for things over which you may have little or no control.
The general classifications of liability insurance are listed below. And if you are a small business owner, see also Business Liability Insurance as well.
- Comprehensive General Liability
- Product Liability
- Umbrella Liability
- Professional Liability -- Malpractice
